  1. 1

Create a Project for your posts

Name it for the account you post on. Add your product description and five to ten of your best posts to the project knowledge.

  2. 2

    Write project instructions once

Describe the voice by pointing at the examples: sentence length, how you open, how you close, words you never use. Claude applies project instructions to every chat in the project.

  3. 3

Ask for a batch with both platforms named

Give the angle, the count, and ask for a Threads version and an X version of each, inside each platform's character limit.

  4. 4

Correct drafts, then update the instructions

When you fix a draft, tell Claude what you changed and ask it to write the rule as a line you can paste into the project instructions.

  5. 5

Copy approved posts into your scheduler

Paste each post into Threads, X or the scheduler you use, and choose the time there.

What Claude is and who uses it for posts

Claude is Anthropic's assistant. You chat with it on the web, desktop, iOS or Android, and it writes, researches, works with files and runs code. Founders and solo marketers use it for social posts because it follows detailed instructions closely and handles long pasted examples.

It is a general assistant rather than a social tool. Drafts live in the chat, and you carry them to wherever you publish, whether that is Threads, X or a scheduler.

This guide covers what each plan costs, which Claude features suit a posting routine, and how to write prompts that produce drafts in your voice.

Claude plans and pricing (as of October 2026)

Anthropic's pricing page lists a Free plan at $0, Pro at $17 a month with an annual subscription ($200 billed up front) or $20 billed monthly, and Max from $100 a month. Max lets you choose 5x or 20x more usage than Pro. Team plans start with standard seats at $20 per seat per month billed annually ($25 monthly) and premium seats at $100 ($125 monthly).

Free covers chat, web search, file creation, memory and Artifacts, with up to five projects. Pro adds more usage, Claude Code, Research, Projects without the five-project cap, and more Claude models. Max adds higher output limits, priority access at busy times, and $100 to $200 a month in API credits to build on the Claude Platform.

Usage limits reset on a rolling five-hour window, and paid plans add weekly limits. Chat and Claude Code draw from the same pool. For a daily posting routine, Pro is the usual starting point; the page notes that when you reach a limit you can wait, move up a plan, or turn on usage credits at standard API rates.

Threads and X support, scheduling and limits

Claude drafts the text, and you publish it yourself, through a scheduler, or with Threadgehog's Export only mode, which gives you the finished posts to paste. Connectors on every plan link Claude to other apps, and the connector list on Anthropic's pricing page shows which ones you can add.

Pro and Max list the ability to hand off and schedule tasks. That is a way to have Claude run a prompt later, such as producing next week's drafts on Sunday. The output is text for you to review.

Character limits belong to the platforms, and they change. See the Threads character limit and the X character limit, and put the numbers in your prompt.

Projects, memory and other features for posts

Projects group related chats under shared context. Anthropic's help page says project knowledge applies to every chat in the project, and project instructions tell Claude how to behave across them., so put your best posts in the knowledge base and every chat in the project can use them.

Memory is on by default for Free, Pro and Max. Claude saves individual topics as you chat, each project has its own memory, and you can pause or reset it under Settings > Memory. You can also start a single chat with memory off.

The pricing page also lists Skills and user preferences on every plan. Skills let you save a repeatable process, such as a weekly post-writing routine, so you do not retype it.

How to prompt Claude for Threads and X posts

Show it real posts. Paste five of yours and ask Claude to describe the pattern before it writes anything. The description becomes the project instructions.

A prompt that works: "Use the posts in project knowledge as the voice. Write 8 posts about [feature]. For each, give a Threads version and an X version inside the character limits. One idea per post. No hashtags. Do not open with a question." Read the batch, mark the two best, and ask for six more like those.

Ask Claude to explain a rejection. If you cut a draft, say why in one line and ask it to turn the reason into a rule. After four or five rounds, your project instructions hold a tested voice guide.

If you want the question answered from the Threadgehog side, see using your Claude subscription to write social posts.

Using Claude together with Threadgehog

Threadgehog is a Mac app that writes Threads and X posts from about ten example posts, holds them in a review queue, and sends approved posts to Buffer, Typefully, Publer, Metricool or Postiz. It can use Claude two ways.

From version 1.1 it writes with a Claude Pro or Max plan you already pay for, by running Claude Code on your Mac signed in to your account. No API key is needed, and drafts count toward your plan's usage limits. Setup is in the Claude plan guide. It also accepts an Anthropic API key; see the Claude API key guide.

Threadgehog has a 14-day free trial when it opens (cancel before day 15 and you are not charged). Solo is $29 a month or $249 a year for 2 projects, Pro is $49 a month or $399 a year for 10 projects, and Unlimited is $79 a month, $649 a year, or $1,199 once for lifetime. The Mac app is on a waitlist now. See pricing.

Questions

How much does Claude cost in October 2026?

Anthropic's pricing page lists Free at $0, Pro at $17 a month billed annually or $20 monthly, and Max from $100 a month. Team standard seats are $20 per seat per month billed annually. Prices exclude tax and can change.

Can Claude post to Threads or X?

Claude writes the draft and you copy it into Threads, X or a scheduler. Threadgehog sends approved posts to Buffer, Typefully, Publer, Metricool or Postiz, and its Export only mode gives you the finished posts to paste.

Does Claude Pro include Claude Code?

Yes. Anthropic says Claude Code is included in all paid plans and shares the same usage limits as chat. That matters because Threadgehog can write drafts through Claude Code on your Pro or Max plan.

Does Claude remember my voice between chats?

Memory is on by default for Free, Pro and Max and is managed at Settings > Memory. For a voice you want to control, use a Project and write the rules in its instructions.

Can I use the free plan for posts?

Yes. Free includes chat, web search, memory and up to five projects, so you can test a prompt and a project before paying. Pro adds more usage.

What does the Claude API cost?

Anthropic lists Sonnet 5.5 at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, Opus 5.5 at $4 and $20, and Haiku 5.5 at $0.10 and $0.50. API billing is separate from a chat plan.

Do drafts written through Threadgehog use my Claude limits?

Yes. Each draft counts toward your plan's usage limit, the same pool as chat and Claude Code. Threadgehog lets you choose how many drafts it writes a day, from 1 to 500.
