Steps
- 1
Pick the plan or start on Free
Free already includes Gems and Deep Research, so test your prompt there. Move to AI Pro at $19.99 a month when you want the Pro model and higher usage.
- 2
Make a skill for your posting voice
Describe the skill in the prompt bar: your voice rules, the platforms, and the shape of a good post. Attach a skill.md file or examples if you want more context saved with it.
- 3
Try the premade /match-my-writing-style skill
Google says it learns from your writing across Workspace apps to build a voice card. Run it, read the card, and correct anything that does not sound like you.
- 4
Ask for a batch with the limits named
Give the product, the angle and the count. Ask for a Threads version and an X version of each, inside each platform's character limit.
- 5
Copy approved posts into your scheduler
Paste each post into Threads, X or your scheduler and choose the time there.
What Gemini is and who uses it for posts
Gemini is Google's assistant. It runs in the Gemini app and on the web, inside Gmail, Docs and other Google apps, and in Chrome. People use it for social posts when they already live in Google Workspace and want drafts that start from the notes, docs and emails they have there.
It is a general assistant. Drafting is the part it does well, and publishing happens in the tool you choose for Threads and X.
Below: what each Google AI plan costs, which Gemini features help a posting routine, and how to prompt for Threads and X.
Gemini and Google AI plans (as of October 2026)
On Google's US subscription page, Gemini is free at $0 with a Google Account. The paid plans are Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month, Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month, and Google AI Ultra from $99.99 a month, which gives 5x the usage limits of Pro, or $199.99 a month for 20x. Google describes Plus as 2x higher usage than Free and Pro as 4x.
Free includes the Gemini app with the Flash-Lite model, image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas and Gems, plus 15 GB of storage. Plus adds the Flash model, more features such as video generation, and 400 GB of storage. Pro adds Gemini 4 Argon and the Pro model, Gemini in Gmail, Docs and Vids, and 5 TB of storage.
Prices differ by country. The page you see in Thailand is in baht, for instance, so check your own country's page. The prices here are the US ones.
Threads and X support, scheduling and limits
Gemini writes the text, and you post it, hand it to a scheduler, or use Threadgehog's Export only mode, which gives you the finished posts to paste.
Tasks in Gemini lets you give Gemini a goal that it plans, browses for and works on in the background. Google lists it for Pro and Ultra subscribers in select countries. It is a way to hand off busywork, such as collecting ideas for next week's posts.
The platforms set the character limits and they change. See the Threads character limit and the X character limit, and write them into your prompt.
Skills, Gems and personalization for posts
Google's skills page describes skills as custom shortcuts. You create one by describing it in the prompt bar or in the skills page, you can add files by uploading a skill.md, and you can stack several skills in one prompt. For a posting routine, a skill that holds your voice rules and platform limits saves retyping them.
Gems, the older version of this idea, are on the way out. Google says it will remove Gem support starting in November for personal accounts, March 2027 for Workspace business, enterprise and nonprofit customers, and June 2027 for education customers, and will migrate existing Gems into skills automatically.
Google lists a premade /match-my-writing-style skill that learns from your real writing across Workspace apps to create a voice card. Personal Intelligence goes further and lets Gemini use Gmail, Photos, Search, YouTube and your chat history, with controls to choose which apps connect.
How to prompt Gemini for Threads and X posts
Start from material you have. Paste a changelog entry, a support reply or a doc paragraph, and ask for posts based on it. Gemini works well with a source to draw from.
A prompt that works: "Here are five of my posts and a release note. Describe my voice in four lines. Then write 8 posts about the release, each as a Threads version and an X version inside the character limits. One idea per post. No hashtags." Save the four-line description into your skill.
Edit before you post. Tell Gemini what you cut and why, and ask for the rule in one line to add to the skill. Within a few rounds, the skill reflects your voice more than the first draft did.
If you want drafts, review and sending in one place, see how to schedule Threads posts with AI.

Solo is $29 a month or $249 a year for 2 projects, Pro is $49 a month or $399 a year for 10 projects, and Unlimited is $79 a month, $649 a year, or $1,199 once for lifetime.
