What Publer is and who uses it
Publer is a scheduler for social media posts. You connect your accounts, write a post once, and Publer publishes it at the time you pick. Its site lists Threads, X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube, Pinterest and more under one login.
People who post often to several networks use it for the calendar, the queue and bulk scheduling. Its pricing page says you can schedule up to 500 posts at once from a CSV file, and it has workspaces so one login can hold several brands. Founders who run a Threads account and an X account side by side use the same composer for both.
Publer pricing and plans (as of October 2026)
Publer prices by plan and by how many social accounts and extra team members you add. Its help center says the Free plan is free forever and covers up to 3 social accounts, with X connecting on paid plans. Free allows 10 scheduled posts per account, 25 saved drafts and a 24-hour post history.
Professional starts at $5 a month with one social account and one user. It adds X, unlimited scheduling and drafts, bulk scheduling, threads and follow-up comments. Business starts at $10 a month with one social account and one user, and adds unlimited AI Assist prompts, analytics, best times to post, competitor analysis, post recycling, and access to the Publer API and MCP server. Enterprise is priced by quote.
Yearly billing is 20% cheaper than monthly according to the help center, and for every 9 social accounts the 10th is free. Threads and X count as two accounts. Professional has a 7-day free trial and Business a 14-day free trial. Prices change, so check Publer's plans page for the total for your setup.
Threads and X support, scheduling and limits
Publer's pricing page lists Threads accounts and X (Twitter) accounts among its supported networks. X accounts need a paid subscription; its page explains this is because of the cost of X's enterprise API. A Threads composer is listed on its feature menu for scheduling threads across X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon.
Publer also sets daily posting limits to stay within platform rules. Its API documentation lists them per plan on a rolling 24-hour basis in UTC. Threads posts: 150 on Free, 200 on Professional, 250 on Business. X posts: 25, 50 and 100. For Threadgehog users that is far above a normal daily batch of a few posts per account.
If you connect through the API, the documented rate limit is 100 requests per 2-minute window per user account, shared across all API keys. A 429 response comes back when you go over.
AI features
Publer's pricing page gives Business unlimited AI Assist prompts, and the plan lists them next to analytics and best times to post. The site also offers free tools such as an AI post generator and an AI hashtag generator.
AI Assist works from the prompts you give it. If you want a whole week of posts written in one voice learned from your own example posts, Threadgehog does that before the posts reach Publer.
How to schedule Threads and X posts in Publer
The five steps above cover the routine. Connect each network once, then every post follows the same path: composer, accounts, time, calendar. A few habits help on Threads and X in particular.
Write the shorter version first so one text fits both networks, then expand where there is room. Use AutoSchedule or a recurring queue so the calendar never empties. Open the calendar once a week and move anything that clusters on one day.
- Connect each network once
- Customize the text per network when they differ
- Use AutoSchedule to keep the queue full
Which Publer plan fits a Threads and X account
Count accounts first. A founder with one Threads profile and one X profile has two social accounts, so the plan needs room for two. Professional is the lowest plan that connects X. Business is the plan to choose if you want unlimited AI Assist prompts, analytics, best times to post, or the API.
Publer's plans page describes its Free plan as ideal for individuals who are starting solo, with 10 scheduled posts per account at a time. If you post a few times a day, that cap fills quickly, and it only frees up as posts publish or are deleted. The paid plans list unlimited scheduling.
Both paid plans start with a free trial, 7 days on Professional and 14 on Business, so you can try the calendar and the composer before you pay.
Using Publer with Threadgehog
Publer is one of five schedulers Threadgehog hands approved posts to, along with Buffer, Typefully, Metricool and Postiz. The full setup is on the Threadgehog and Publer page. Threadgehog is on a waitlist right now, so join the waitlist if you want it when it opens.
The flow: Threadgehog writes a batch of Threads and X drafts in a voice learned from about ten example posts. You approve or reject each one. Approved posts go to Publer on the sending schedule you pick, once a day from 9 AM, twice a day from 9 AM and 5 PM, every 6 hours, or every hour, while Threadgehog is open. Publer publishes them. You paste one API key, then choose the Threads and X channel for each project.
The Publer API needs a Business plan in good standing or Enterprise. Threadgehog sends a short thread to Publer as one post when it fits the platform limit, 500 characters on Threads and 280 on X, and a longer one waits in Pending for you to edit. Images and video upload straight to Publer.
Where Threadgehog fits: it writes and queues the posts, and Publer remains the place your calendar, accounts and publishing live. Threadgehog plans start at Solo, $29 a month, with a 14-day free trial when the app opens. See pricing for the rest.
