Steps

  1. 1

Create an account and connect your profiles

Sign up with Google, X, LinkedIn or email. Connect your X profile and your Threads profile. Typefully says you can connect several accounts, each one inside a social set.

  2. 2

Write the post or thread in the editor

Open a new draft and write. For a thread, split it into posts in the editor and preview how it will look before it goes out. Use the writing assistant if you want a rewrite or a punchier hook.

  3. 3

    Pick where it publishes

Choose X, Threads or both. Typefully lets you send the same post to more than one platform, so you can edit each version before you schedule it.

  4. 4

    Schedule it

Choose a date and time, use a preset time slot, or type a time in plain language. The calendar shows what is scheduled and what is still a draft.

  5. 5

Check the queue once a week

Open the calendar, read what is lined up, and fix anything stale. On Creator and up, open X analytics to see which posts did well and write the next batch from that.

What Typefully is and who uses it

Typefully is a place to write social posts and schedule them. Its home page calls it an AI-powered, collaborative social media scheduler for X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Threads. The editor is the center of it: you write a post or a thread, see a preview, and send it out at a time you pick.

The people it is built for are individual writers and creators on the Creator plan, and marketing teams and agencies on the Business plan. Business adds shared drafts, comments, Slack notifications, teams, roles and permissions, and higher API rate limits. A team can have up to 50 social sets.

A social set is Typefully's unit for one set of connected profiles. The Free and Creator plans include one. Business is priced per social set, which is why its price reads "per month per social set".

Typefully pricing and plans, as of October 2026

Typefully's pricing page lists three plans. Free costs nothing and covers 1 social set, 1 user and 10 posts a month. Creator is $99 a year, billed annually only, with 1 social set, 1 user, 1000 posts a month, X analytics, AI writing features and unlimited media uploads. Business starts at $18 a month per social set, billed yearly, with 1500 posts a month and up to 50 social sets.

The pricing page says the Free plan includes advanced scheduling, limited media uploads, and access to agents, the API and MCP. Everything in Creator is also in Business, plus collaborative writing, comments, teams, roles and higher API rate limits.

One detail to check at signup: the Typefully Threads page mentions a 14-day free trial of all features, while the pricing page presents a Free plan. If a trial matters to you, read the signup screen for the terms you get today. All prices here are as of October 2026 and can change.

Threads and X support, scheduling and limits

Typefully's Threads page says it has a native integration with Threads, and that you can publish text-only posts, images, videos and GIFs. Its pricing page lists the platforms as X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon and Substack.

For X, the editor is built around threads: you write several posts in one draft and see a preview with mentions and media. Creator and up add X analytics, including detailed metrics, profile conversion rate, tweeting streaks and CSV download. Auto-plug, scheduled retweets and a thread finisher quote also appear in its feature list.

The numbers that limit you are the monthly post counts: 10 on Free, 1000 on Creator and 1500 on Business. The monthly count is the cap that matters on a plan: a creator who schedules two posts a day uses about 60 of the 1000 on Creator. Each platform sets its own post length, so use the editor's counter while you write and see see the Threads character limit and the X character limit.

Typefully AI features

Typefully has a writing assistant that works inside the editor. Its AI page says it learns your tone, vocabulary and patterns from your writing samples and drafts, can turn a rough idea or a voice note into a post, can convert a post for another platform, and keeps a style guide of rules you set, such as no em dashes or at most one emoji per post.

The pricing page lists the AI tools as the writing assistant, rewrite and improve, and AI image descriptions. They are on Creator and up, and Business has higher included usage. Prompts you reuse can be saved as commands.

You start each post. The assistant helps you write, rewrite and refine what you give it. That is the difference worth knowing when you compare it with a tool that drafts whole batches without being asked.

Using Typefully together with Threadgehog

Threadgehog is a Mac app that writes Threads and X posts in your voice and sends the ones you approve to a scheduler. Typefully is one of the five it works with, next to Buffer, Publer, Metricool and Postiz. Threadgehog is on a waitlist right now: join it and you hear when it opens.

The split is simple. Threadgehog learns your style from about ten example posts, writes drafts on its own while the app is open, and holds them in a review queue. You approve or reject. When you approve a Threads post it writes the X version too. Typefully then publishes at the time Threadgehog hands over. Typefully also uploads images itself, so a post with a picture goes out without extra setup.

Setup steps are in the Threadgehog and Typefully guide. Plans start at $29 a month with a 14-day free trial when it opens: see pricing. For more on what each tool does, read Threadgehog vs Typefully.

Where Threadgehog fits

If you use Typefully because you like writing in its editor, keep writing there. Threadgehog fits when you want a week or a month of posts drafted before you sit down, in a voice built from posts you chose. Nothing in Typefully has to change: it stays the place where posts get scheduled and published.
