What Postiz is and who uses it

Postiz is a social media scheduler that leans on automation. Its pricing page headline reads "Agentic Scheduling from $29/month", and every plan includes the hosted MCP server, the CLI and the public API, so AI agents such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can schedule posts for you.

Beyond the calendar it offers cross-posting, repeated posts, RSS auto-posting, signatures, customer groups for clients or brands, webhooks and analytics. Developers and creators who want scheduling they can drive from code or an assistant pick it for that reason.

Postiz also lists Internal Plugs and Global Plugs, which repost or comment on your posts using other connected accounts or when engagement passes a threshold. Those features come from its FAQ, and they are optional for a plain Threads and X schedule.

Postiz pricing and plans (as of October 2026)

Postiz has four plans, priced by channel count. Standard is $29 a month for 5 channels. Team is $39 for 10 channels and unlimited team members. Pro is $49 for 30 channels, and Ultimate is $99 for 100 channels. On yearly billing the same plans are $23, $31, $39 and $79 a month, which its FAQ says saves about 20%.

Every plan includes unlimited posts per month, the API, the MCP server and a 7-day free trial. Higher plans add monthly allowances of AI images (100 on Team, 300 on Pro, 500 on Ultimate), AI videos and AI video clipping minutes.

Its refund terms cover up to one month of fees on monthly plans.

Threads and X support, scheduling and limits

Postiz lists X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Discord, Bluesky, Mastodon and more as supported platforms. Its FAQ says that on X and Threads you can schedule entire threads, and scheduled follow-up comments work on other platforms.

A delay feature spaces posts and comments by minutes or hours. Sets save a group of channels with message templates, and signatures add hashtags or links automatically. The public API has dedicated provider settings for both X and Threads.

Channel counts are the main limit on the cloud plans, since posts are unlimited. Self-hosting is offered as a secondary option. Its FAQ adds that approvals for Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube usually take more than a month when you register your own social apps.

AI features

Postiz has an AI copilot on every plan. Its Smart Agent is described as an assistant you chat with to schedule posts, generate content, create images and analyze performance. RSS auto-posting can use AI to write descriptions and images, and AI video clipping turns long YouTube videos into short captioned clips.

The MCP server matters for Threadgehog-style workflows: an agent can create and schedule posts through it. Allowances for AI images, videos and clipping minutes depend on the plan.

How to schedule Threads and X posts in Postiz

The five steps above work for a single post or a full thread. Decide first whether you want unlimited posts on few channels (Standard) or more channels (Team and up). A project with one Threads and one X account fits within Standard's 5 channels.

Use signatures for a link or hashtag you add often, and sets when the same content goes to the same channels each time.

For a thread, write the first post as the hook, then add each following post in order. Use the delay setting if you want a few minutes between parts so the thread looks natural. Before the thread goes out, preview it on both channels and fix any part that reads oddly alone.

Which Postiz plan fits a Threads and X account

Postiz prices by channels, not posts. A Threads account and an X account are two channels, so Standard's 5 channels hold them with room for a few more. Because posts are unlimited on every plan, a daily batch of posts will not hit a monthly post cap.

Team at $39 a month is the step up when you need 10 channels or a team, since it lists unlimited team members. Pro and Ultimate fit agencies that manage many client channels, with 30 and 100 channels.

Yearly billing lowers each plan by about 20%, per the FAQ. Start with the 7-day trial and connect your accounts before you pick yearly.

Using Postiz with Threadgehog

Postiz is one of five schedulers Threadgehog sends approved posts to, along with Buffer, Typefully, Publer and Metricool. The full setup is on the Threadgehog and Postiz page. Threadgehog is on a waitlist, so join the waitlist to use it when it opens.

Setup takes one API key. In Postiz, open Settings, Developers, then Public API and copy the key. On Postiz cloud, paste it into Threadgehog and leave the server address empty. If you self-host, enter your backend address followed by /public/v1.

Multi-post threads go to Postiz as real threads on both Threads and X, each part its own post, and images upload straight to Postiz, including a different image on each part. Threadgehog checks each sent post with Postiz and moves it from Scheduled to Published once Postiz reports it went out. Postiz plans have no posting cap.

Where Threadgehog fits: it writes the daily batch in your voice and learns from your approvals, and Postiz publishes. Threadgehog starts at Solo, $29 a month, with a 14-day free trial when it opens. See pricing.
