What Postory is
Postory is a web tool for writing and publishing posts. Its home page lists X, Threads and Bluesky, and says that after you connect an account it learns your tone, vocabulary and rhythm, then writes posts in that style. It publishes through official APIs, it says.
It prices in credits: 100 welcome credits to start, $1 buys 100, $10 buys 1,000, credits never expire and there is no subscription (checked October 2026). Its home page does not say how many credits a draft costs; its pricing page has that detail, so read it before comparing costs.
What Threadgehog is
Threadgehog is a Mac app that writes Threads and X posts and full threads in a voice built from 10 to 20 example posts you paste, yours or anyone's. It stores the voice as six notes: sentence length, how posts open, how they close, words to leave out, topics and tone.
Drafts wait in Pending. You approve or reject each one, and every choice teaches the next batch. Approved posts go to the scheduler you already use: Buffer, Typefully, Publer, Metricool or Postiz. The method is described in how to make AI write in your voice.
Two ways to learn a voice
Postory reads the writing on an account you connect. That is one source: what that account already published.
Threadgehog reads posts you choose, from your account or anyone else's in your niche. A brand-new account works, because the examples can come from accounts that already found readers in your field. You can also edit any voice note by hand when a rule is wrong.
The review step
Threadgehog's loop is built on your judgment. Every draft waits in Pending; approve moves it to the Queue, reject removes it, and both teach the next batch. After about 30 days of review, auto-approve can start moving drafts it is sure about straight to the Queue.
Postory's home page does not describe a review or learning loop, so we make no claim about it either way. If a look-before-posting step matters to you, check its pages for the current workflow.
Pricing, as of October 2026
Postory charges per credit and credits never expire, so cost tracks use: light months cost little, heavy months cost more, and the home page lists $1 for 100 credits and $10 for 1,000. What a single draft costs is on its pricing page, which we did not read, so do the math there before comparing.
Threadgehog lists Solo at $29 a month (300 AI drafts), Pro at $49 (750 drafts) and Unlimited at $79 (1,500 drafts), or Lifetime Unlimited at $1,199 once, on pricing. Every plan includes AI drafts; you can also write with your own key or your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
Who fits which
Pick Postory if you want a web tool that covers Bluesky as well, you like paying only when you write, and the account you connect already sounds like you.
Pick Threadgehog if Threads and X are your focus, you want drafts built from posts you chose rather than one account's history, and you want a review step that keeps teaching the writer. Postory also appears in the wider field in the best AI tools for Threads.
Questions

It starts with 100 welcome credits. After that, credits cost $1 for 100 or $10 for 1,000, never expire and carry no subscription, per its home page (checked October 2026).
How does Postory learn my voice?
