Marketing the game is harder than making it.

Threadgehog drafts your devlog posts and sends the ones you approve to your scheduler, so the hours go back to the game.

14-day free trial. Cancel before day 15 and you won't be charged. Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or later.

Who it is for

A solo developer with a Steam page or an itch.io devlog who is still building the game and trying to market it at the same time.

How Threadgehog helps

Paste about ten devlog posts that got plenty of replies, your own or other developers', as text or Threads links, and Threadgehog writes in that style. Add a screenshot or clip from the build to the Media library with a short note on what is happening in it, and Threadgehog writes post ideas from that note with the file already attached. Set the link share to 25% and about 1 in 4 posts point people to your Steam or itch.io page, then approve the drafts that sound right. Approved posts go to Buffer, Typefully, Publer, Metricool or Postiz, and posts with media go through all five, with Cloudinary connected for Buffer and Metricool.

A playtester spent 25 minutes in the first room. She wasn't stuck. She was rearranging the ghost's teacups so they matched. I'm adding an achievement for it.

What changed: we stopped posting trailers and started posting the ghosts. The one that hides in the laundry basket got more replies than our Steam page announcement.

Questions

Do I need posts of my own first?

No. A brand-new account works. Paste about ten posts from your niche that got plenty of replies, from any account, and Threadgehog writes in that style. The app shows you how to find them. Once your own posts start doing well, paste those and rebuild the brand voice.

Will every post link to my product?

Only as many as you choose. Set it to 25% and about 1 in 4 posts point people to your product and end with your link. The rest are regular posts in your brand voice, so the feed does not read like ads. The X version keeps the link too, and in a thread the link goes in the last post.

Can it run without me approving every post?

Yes. Turn on auto-approve during setup or in Project settings. It waits until Threadgehog agrees with your choices often enough, and Project settings shows how close it is, from Just started to Ready for auto-approve. From then on, drafts it's sure you'd approve skip Pending and go straight to your Queue, which Threadgehog sends to your scheduler, and the rest wait in Pending. Pick how many posts it writes a day, from 1 to 500, and it writes them on its own while the app is open. More posts use more of your monthly AI drafts, more of your own key's usage (cheap, because it is only text), or more of your Claude or ChatGPT plan's limits. Reviewing a batch once a week or once a month still gets better results: it learns from what you approve and reject, and auto-approved posts are left out of that.
